Instructional Design & Development

Instructional Design & Development

In addition to training delivery, The Columbia Group also designs and develops courses. We create step-by-step blueprints for instructor-led courses as well as self-guided interactive multimedia courses for multiple customers across the Department of Defense and other Government agencies.

Instructional Design

The Columbia Group has developed training packages and course materials for technology-based delivery methods including mobile platforms (iOS, Windows Mobile, Android), 3-Dimensional Interactive Multimedia Instruction, CD-ROM, internet, private intranet, and video. We specialize in computer- or web-based interactive multimedia instruction developed with the ISD model. We have developed technology-based training at all four levels of interactivity. Additionally, we have developed training using Authorware; Macromedia Flash MX; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier; iKe Integrated Knowledge Elements; and HTML, Action Script, and Java Script.

Instructional Development

The Columbia Group has established and proven best-practice procedures for developing training using instructor-led, field, interactive multimedia, simulation, and Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) methodologies that conform to training industry standards such as the Sharable Courseware Object Reference Module (SCORM) and Section 508. We have used the above methods to develop courses for the Consolidated CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB), and Mobilization Unit Processing Center (MUPC) areas.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I have attended many classes in the past through FEMA and other agencies and was very impressed at the way logistical needs were met. As a student, this was probably the most worry-free class I have attended.

“It has been an extreme pleasure to work with people who can immediately take charge of programs and make them into emeralds. You and your team are those people. I will have many memories of my time in the service. The most cherished ones will be the people I worked with that have made my journey through the military an easy one and a fruitful one. Thanks to you and your team.”
